Terms of use

The terms for using the Revise Medical website, calculators, IDR data and portal. Estimates only, no PHI through forms, and not legal advice.

  • Draft for counsel review
  • Last updated October 13, 2026
  • 21 sections

The short version. These terms cover this website and its free tools. Calculator results and data pages are estimates for planning, not legal or billing advice, and Revise is not a law firm. Do not send protected health information through any form on this site. If you are a client, your signed services agreement and business associate agreement govern our work for you and win over anything here. The full terms below control.

1. Acceptance and eligibility

This website, its pages, calculators, data pages, guides and any portal reachable from it (together, the “site”) are operated by Revise Medical, LLC (“Revise,” “we,” “us”). By using the site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site.

The site is built for healthcare providers, practice and billing staff, revenue cycle teams and their advisers. It is not directed at consumers or patients. You must be at least 18 years old to use it. If you use the site on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you are authorized to accept these terms for that organization, and “you” includes it.

2. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the site and the business change. The date at the top of this page shows the latest version. If a change is material, we will say so on this page and, for portal users, by email or a notice in the portal before it takes effect. Using the site after a change takes effect means you accept the new terms. Changes do not apply to a dispute that arose before the change.

3. Client services are governed separately

Revise performs open negotiation, federal and state independent dispute resolution (IDR) and collections work for clients under a signed services agreement and a business associate agreement (BAA). Those agreements set the fees, the scope, how we handle protected health information and each side’s obligations. If anything on this site, including these terms, conflicts with a signed agreement, the signed agreement controls.

Descriptions of pricing, process and timelines on the site are summaries. They are not an offer and do not create a client relationship. The platform is in build and we are onboarding our first design partners, so features described on the site may change before general availability.

4. The site and its tools

The site includes free tools and reference material, including:

  • a fee calculator that estimates recoveries and fees from figures you enter;
  • a federal IDR deadline calculator that counts business days from a date you enter;
  • IDR data pages built from the CMS public-use files and published analyses;
  • guides, a glossary, state process guides, comparisons and blog articles.

These tools produce estimates. Their output depends on what you enter and on assumptions we state on each page. They do not predict the result of any dispute, and past outcomes in public data do not promise future ones. The calculators run in your browser. We do not save the figures you enter; the privacy policy describes the limited usage events the site records.

Federal IDR deadlines are set by the No Surprises Act, its regulations and CMS guidance, all of which change. The deadline calculator may not reflect a recent rule, a federal holiday change, a state law, a system outage or an extension granted in your case. Check every deadline against the current regulations and the federal IDR portal before you rely on it. A missed deadline can end a claim.

5. Not legal, financial or billing advice

Revise is not a law firm and does not give legal advice. Nothing on the site is legal, tax, financial, coding or billing advice, and reading it or using a tool does not create an attorney-client or advisory relationship. For clients, we act as an authorized representative in open negotiation and IDR and prepare documents in the client’s name. Litigation and legal opinions come from counsel the client chooses.

Get advice from a qualified professional before you act on anything you read here.

6. No protected health information through the site

The contact and audit request forms collect business contact details only. Do not enter patient names, dates of birth, claim numbers tied to a patient, medical record numbers or any other protected health information (PHI) into a site form, email it to a general address, or paste it into a calculator.

When a client or prospective client needs to share claims data, we sign a BAA first and provide a secure upload channel. If you send PHI through the site by mistake, tell us at privacy@revise-medical.com and we will delete it. Our HIPAA notice explains how we handle PHI under a BAA.

7. Accounts and the portal

The Revise Portal is open by invitation only, to clients and design partners. Portal use is also governed by your organization’s services agreement and BAA. If you have portal credentials:

  • keep your password and any multi-factor device to yourself, and do not share an account;
  • use the portal only for your organization’s authorized work;
  • tell us right away at security@revise-medical.com if you suspect someone else has used your account or if you find a security weakness;
  • keep your contact details current so we can reach you about security and account notices.

You are responsible for activity under your credentials until you report a problem. Your organization is responsible for removing access for people who leave. We may suspend an account to protect the portal, our clients or patient data, and we will tell your organization why when the law allows.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the site in a way that breaks a law or regulation, including HIPAA and state privacy laws;
  • upload or send PHI through any part of the site other than a channel we provide under a BAA;
  • scrape, crawl or bulk-download the site in a way that burdens it, or ignore our robots.txt rules (ordinary search engine indexing is fine);
  • copy, reverse engineer, decompile or try to extract source code or models from the portal or tools, except where the law allows it despite this limit;
  • probe, scan or test the security of the site without our written permission;
  • introduce malware, or interfere with the site, its servers or other users;
  • get around access controls, rate limits or invitation requirements;
  • impersonate a person or organization, or misstate your affiliation;
  • submit false information through a form, or use the site to send spam;
  • present our content, data or comparisons as your own, or alter them so they mislead.

Good-faith security research is welcome. Write to security@revise-medical.com before you test, and do not access data that is not yours.

9. Content and limited license

We or our licensors own the site and its content, including text, graphics, data compilations, calculators, software and design. These terms do not transfer any ownership to you.

We give you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to view the site and use its tools for your own business evaluation and internal reference. You may quote short passages and link to any page, with attribution to Revise Medical and a link back. You may not republish, sell or frame substantial parts of the site or build a competing data product from it without written permission. Public data we display, such as CMS public-use files, stays public; our compilation, analysis and presentation of it are ours.

10. Feedback

If you send us ideas, suggestions or corrections about the site or our services, we may use them without paying you or owing you anything. Do not send feedback you consider confidential. This section does not cover a client’s data or materials, which the services agreement governs.

11. Third-party links and sources

The site links to and cites outside sources, including CMS, the Federal Register, KFF, state regulators and published research. We cite them so you can check our figures. We do not control those sites, are not responsible for their content or availability, and a link is not an endorsement. Their own terms and privacy policies apply when you visit them. Source data can be revised after we publish; the original source controls.

12. Trademarks

Revise Medical, Revise and the Revise logo are trademarks of Revise Medical, LLC. You may not use them in a way that suggests we endorse you or your product, or that could confuse people about who you are.

Other names and marks on the site belong to their owners. We name other companies, including competitors, only to make factual comparisons and to identify their products. That use does not imply any affiliation, sponsorship or endorsement. Comparisons rely on public filings and published material and are labeled as verified, reported, inferred or estimated. If you believe a comparison is wrong, write to hello@revise-medical.com with the source and we will review it.

13. Disclaimer of warranties

The site and everything on it are provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy and timeliness. We do not promise that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of harmful code, or that any estimate, deadline or data point is correct or current.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Warranties for client services, if any, are set out in the signed services agreement.

14. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Revise and its officers, employees and contractors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data or missed deadlines, arising from your use of or inability to use the site, even if we were told such damages were possible.

Our total liability for all claims arising from the site is limited to one hundred US dollars (US$100). The site and its tools are free, and this cap reflects that. This section does not limit liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for fraud or willful misconduct, and it does not change the liability terms in a signed services agreement or BAA.

15. Indemnification

You agree to defend and indemnify Revise against third-party claims, losses and reasonable legal fees arising from your breach of these terms, your misuse of the site, or PHI or other content you submit through the site in violation of these terms. We will tell you promptly about any such claim, let you control the defense, and cooperate at your expense. You may not settle a claim that imposes an obligation on us without our consent.

16. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or end your access to all or part of the site if you break these terms, if we need to protect the site, our clients or patient data, or if we stop offering a feature. You may stop using the site at any time. Sections 5, 9 through 15, 17 and 20 continue after your access ends. Ending site access does not end a signed services agreement; that agreement has its own termination terms.

17. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of [Governing law state], without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, and by applicable US federal law.

Talk to us first. If you have a dispute about the site, write to hello@revise-medical.com with a short description and what you are asking for. We will do the same if we have a dispute with you. Both sides will try in good faith to resolve it within 30 days before starting a formal proceeding.

If it is not resolved, either side may bring the claim in the state or federal courts located in [County, State for venue], and both sides consent to those courts’ jurisdiction. Either side may bring a qualifying claim in small claims court, and either side may ask any competent court for an injunction to stop misuse of its intellectual property or a security breach. Each side pays its own legal costs unless a court orders otherwise.

Placeholder for counsel: governing law, venue and whether to use arbitration are open decisions. Disputes under a services agreement follow that agreement.

18. Electronic communications

When you use the site, submit a form or email us, you consent to receive communications from us electronically. Notices, disclosures and agreements we send electronically satisfy any requirement that they be in writing. You can opt out of marketing email at any time with the link in each message. We will still send account, security and legal notices to portal users.

19. United States use and export

The site and our services are built for providers working under United States federal and state law. We make no claim that the content suits use elsewhere. You may not use or export the site or its software in violation of US export control or sanctions laws, and you confirm that you are not on a US government restricted-party list.

20. General terms

Privacy and accessibility

Our privacy policy explains what we collect through the site and how we use it. Our accessibility statement explains how we test the site and how to report a barrier.

Entire agreement

These terms, together with the privacy policy and any terms posted for a specific tool, are the whole agreement between you and us about the site. A signed services agreement or BAA governs client services as described in section 3.

Severability and waiver

If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, that part will be enforced to the extent allowed and the rest stays in effect. If we do not enforce a term right away, we have not waived it.

Assignment

You may not transfer your rights or duties under these terms without our written consent. We may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, or to an affiliate.

No third-party beneficiaries

These terms do not give rights to anyone other than you and us.

Events outside our control

We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, including outages at hosting providers or government systems such as the federal IDR portal.
